Volunteering

The Sawgrass Nature Center was founded by volunteers and we are always looking for eager and helpful people who love animals and our environment. There are different ways you can sign up to volunteer with us. Regardless of which path you choose, you must begin by completing a volunteer application.

If you are interested in volunteering with us short-term or if you’re under 16 you can choose to sign up for the Green Team, Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) or Camp Counselor positions.

Junior volunteer opportunities are available for students 13+. There is no fee for juniors. Please complete an application below:

For information about corporate/group volunteer opportunities please call our office at (954)752-9453 or email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@sawgrassnaturecenter.org.

We do not accept court-ordered community service hours.

If a long-term commitment is what you’re looking for and you are over 18 years of age, you are able to work in the hospital. There is a $30 fee for adult volunteers. With this commitment, you will receive a one-year membership to the Center, a t-shirt (our uniform), and a name badge.
