Our Junior Volunteer Program is on HIATUS until the start of the Fall Semester. For available opportunities please visit HandsOnBroward.org
Thank you for your interest in our Junior Volunteer Program. This program is for volunteers who are under the age of 18. Please complete the application below. Once you complete the application you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator and you will be able to select an orientation date. Orientation is held virtually through Microsoft Teams. If you are 18+ please complete the Adult Volunteer Application.
If you are under the age of 15 OR are interested in volunteering with us short-term the Green Team is the program for you. You do not need to attend orientation in order to join the Green Team. You can sign up through HandsOn Broward. The Green Team meets on Saturdays at 10:30 am and is open to families.
ALL volunteers under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult when volunteering.
At this time we do not accept court-ordered volunteers.
Our Junior Volunteer Program prepares students to enter the workforce by giving them the opportunity to gain experience in several areas: responsibility, customer service, speaking to the public, phone etiquette, teamwork, event planning, cash handling, sales, data entry, and time management. Regardless of the tasks, you complete while volunteering, you are gaining valuable work experience that you can add to your resume.
It is for this reason that we encourage parents to allow their children to complete the application themselves and communicate directly with us about any questions they have about the program. Parents are welcome to join us for orientation.
For more information about the different volunteer positions and their requirements please see our Volunteer Handbook.
