Junior volunteers are an integral part of the SNC volunteer family. There are a variety of opportunities available to young adults ages 15-17 such as: performing administrative duties, becoming a part of the Green Team, or assisting with the educational outreach programs. For the safety of our animals, volunteers and staff, no one under the age of 18 will be permitted to volunteer in the hospital or with our permanent animal residents.
To become a Junior Volunteer, please download and print the Junior Volunteer Application. On the application, please indicate the areas in which you are interested in volunteering so that we may add you to the appropriate contact lists.
If you would like more information about becoming a “Wild” Volunteer, please call our volunteer coordinator, Ashlyn Valdes, at (954)752-9453 or email her at volunteers@sawgrassnaturecenter.org.
Junior volunteers may also be eligible to become a Camp Wild Counselor (must be at least 15). Camp counselors are responsible for prepping crafts and games, helping to monitor campers, assisting with cleaning and setting up, assisting with presentations, etc. For more information about Camp Wild and camp counselor opportunities, please email Robin Reccasina, Director of Education, at robin@sawgrassnaturecenter.org.
